Russia has a train line running to Vladivostok but the roads are pretty poor in the general area. America, on the Alaskan side, has a hook up road system throughout Canada and down into America, Central and South America. So could Llama coats be on sale in Russia? Why not?
A massive investment would be needed to provide a system of roads in Russia but once completed just think what you could do !
From Patagonia, at the tip of S.America, you could drive up through the Americas then over the bridge and head for India, China, Thailand, Saudi Arabia and all over Europe and via the channel tunnel you could arrive in Scotland !!
Some say that it is just "a bridge to far" but plans exist for a combined rail and road bridge. It is possible to drive across the ice between the two countries in Winter. However building would be extremely hazzardous during the freezing months and therefore only at certain times of the year would construction be able to be carried out. The rest of the year could be spent on preparation and fabrication.
Too far, maybe, but what a project !!
