However I am totally against these tactical strikes, which are not called because of a dispute, but are called to cause the maximum amount of disruption in the hopes that Joe public will bring pressure on employers to give them what they want.
The Miners started it by striking in Wintertime. Railway workers strike at holiday times as do ferry workers and French farmers. Teachers don't strike during Summer holidays either ! There is no dispute. Nobody got fired unfairly. They just strike!!
If there is a dispute, which cannot be resolved, then, by all means, withdraw labour.
