I have used Coca Cola,many times, to clean Gold and Silver. You just put your metal in a dish/glass of coke,overnight,to find it sparkling next morning. Baking Soda is an amazing cleaner,too.
I have used newspaper dipped in vinegar to polish windows and they sparkle,too.
