Every religion has stolen bits and pieces from every other one. The visit by an angel virgin birth one has happened more than 20 times !!  Mohamed, Buddha, Zoroaster, Moses and on and on.  always the same story.

We are now at Christmas, which was a pagan festival until Emperor Constantine decided to nominate it as the birthday of Christ, to suit the old Jewish rules about pregnancy.  Men went to seek work over Spring and Summer and came back for Autumn and Winter.

Christ was born in early March and so a pregnancy had to begin in the previous Summer. This was against Jewish rules.  Enter the virgin birth story.  Then Constantine changed it to ensure that the birth was well within the rules. They make it up as they go along !!

Man invented religion to keep man in order.   Otherwise there would be anarchy. It was brilliant to have a prize,in the after life, if you were good.  Hell only appeared much later,in the Puritan era, as a punishment. This reinforced the concept of a prize.   Then as people became better educated and printing spread the word,people began to ask, what kind of God would not forgive? Enter Purgatory, as a half way house idea.
