America allowed companies to build nuclear plants to supply electric power. Companies are all about Profit and Loss and when one plant is ailing they do an 'is it worth repairing' analysis.

If not, then it becomes a patch and mend plant and should anything terrible happen then the insurance will cover it all!!

By setting up each plant as a separate company and insuring each one separately then should one have a claim it will not affect the others. One company may declare bankruptcy and not affect the others either.

They are all separate units.
