He is very lucky that he does not live in Scotland. We don't have Bailiffs. We have Sheriff's Officer's who execute Court Orders for repayment of outstanding debt. If agreement cannot be reached, with them, to pay off the debt plus Court Expense then they may come and take whatever they can from a home to be sold at public auction.
Should you refuse them entry then they call the Police and can force entry, by any means, to take away your stuff. They are not allowed to take normal clothing, bedding, kitchen goods, furnishings or the tools of a tradesman who might use them in employment.
Normally, a payment agreement, is reached in order to pay up the debt, long before this action takes place.
