A driver does NOT have to get out of a car in the UK for any records and/or papers check. Nor does a person need to leave a car to take a breath test!!
There is NO requirement for any person in the UK to carry any I. D. You can show your documents at the window for police to read and record details.
You should always lock ALL doors as many police officers will enter the car and drag you out!!!
But the main thing is shut up gabbing !! The longer that you gab, gives them more time to invent problems, just as in this case. He actually talked himself into extra charges.
