When I moved into my place, some 26 years ago, I had a three bar electric fire in the living room. Sod this, said I and bought two mobile propane heaters, one for the living area and one for the hallway spreading heat to other rooms. They are a bit dry and I found that by putting a bowl of water, on the floor, beside them helps a lot. I also bought a two burner hob which attaches to a gas bottle, just in case!!
