NATO troops have always been cannon fodder in any War between America and Russia. Thee whole purpose is to try and slow the Russians down long enough for America to get into some semblance of order.

American troops would be flown to Africa, to build a beach head, followed by ship loads of troops and equipment to start a second front. Any missiles launched would countered with anti missile systems thus reducing the numbers reaching targets on either side.Any air war, in the Atlantic, would be useless as flight times are too long and shortage of fuel would give little time to engage.

Europe is the give away piece in any major War.
