Train tickets on thetrainline.com are no cheaper than booking direct online | Daily Mail Online
I first found out about how to save money by splitting journey destinations many decades ago! I was in London and wanted to get to Gatwick for a flight home to Glasgow. A very nice man explained that if I bought a rail ticket to the stop passed the airport it would be much cheaper for me. I did and it sure was!!!
After that,if I was travelling long distance, say Glasgow to London I would buy a ticket Glasgow to Carlisle Carlisle to Crewe Crewe to Birmingham and Birmingham to London or whatever took my fancy. The ticket Glasgow London was always more expensive than four tickets and you could use the same train.
