Have-a-go heroes who ignore health and safety rulesto be protected by 'Good Samaritan' law |
It is about time that something was done about this problem. People have died, as health professionals have been forced,by law,to stand and watch them die,as they are not insured to 'work' off duty.
A bad case, in Scotland, happened when a woman, taking a short cut,at night, fell down a dis used mine opening..
Firemen, who climb up and down ladders every other day, were not allowed to put a ladder down the hole and go get her up. They had to wait for a specialist mines rescue unit. The woman died, down the hole, shouting help me !!
Nurses and even doctors are not allowed to help people who collapse in the street. They must phone an ambulance, which can take hours.
