BBC News - Land ownership reforms proposedThe Queen and the Church of Scotland are certainly in the top five of land owners in Scotland. If Laws are passed, restricting the amount of land owned, will there be ,a massive sell off, at knock down prices to developers??
Laws already exist, stating that un developed land must be made use of within three years. This Law was brought in to stop supermarkets and housing speculators, buying up land and doing nothing with it.
So if land is sold off, will it create a house building renaissance? Mortgages are at very low rates and look like staying low, as there are no signs of a rise in the Base Lending Rate.
