The problem with prisoners being allowed to vote is their location. A prisoner may be in a jail in a completely different area to the one where he/she is registered to vote. So if they are allowed to vote, where does their vote actually count?
If a huge lump of prisoner votes, happens in the voting area of the prison, the politics of that area will be controlled by prisoner votes as most will vote for Labour. If their vote is counted, where they are registered, as a postal vote, they will need access to local voting information, to let them decide who to vote for.
