These things are coming to the Uk. Just the other day it was decided to wait for a year before these meters are going to be installed.
If and when they are installed, they send the usage figures to an area box every six seconds and this message is a pulse, on a frequency, very near to that of mobile phones. There is now evidence that usage of mobile phones, close to the brain, may cause health hassles. You can switch off or cut down your use of a phone, but these things and your neighbour's units, round about you, pulse every 6 seconds or 10 per minute or 600 times per hour, every hour 24/7. That is 100,800 pulses per week!!!! times the number in your immediate area. It is said that the pulse is inaudible. Personally, I don't believe it
Of course,they are not for your benefit. The power firms will no longer need meter readers, as the figures are sent every 6 seconds. There will no longer be a meter in the home. These have been tampered with, in various ways, over the years to avoid paying all or part of a bill.. The new meter will be outside and open to vandalism. As the pulse is microwave,unfortunately for the power firms, they are very easily disabled. Just Google it !!!
