Prism is just a better program than the original Echelon System which was one of the first intrusive phone and fax programs. Yes Fax, it is that old !!!
All incoming and outgoing calls and faxes from and to the USA were recorded using three main sites ran by the NSA. Pine Gap in Australia covered the Far East. A base in Yorkshire,England covers Europe and the Uk and of course, the puzzle palace at Fort Meade in USA received all the data.
So there is nothing new here,except a better program!
