I don't  think that cutting housing benefit is going to help matters in anyway at all. If a single person is living in a two bedroom flat,they will now be docked benefit money for the extra room. The benefit is paid directly to the local council and so there really is no penalty to the claimant, other than the fact that arrears are run up.
When arrears get high,after a year or so, then we may see evictions, if the Courts are not blocked up completely by then. All that this will do is produce more homeless people.
