Rangers in crisis: Fans organise rally in support of Walter Smith consortium

Rangers in crisis: Fans organise rally in support of Walter Smith consortium - The Daily Record

Walter Smith is a bit late on the scene now as was Charlie Green. However as far as I can see, Green has now bought and owns the old Rangers  for £5.5 million.  This is a joke figure!!  Ibrox is worth about three times that much even if the facade of the building is a listed one in the Scottish Office, Edinburgh.
Being listed did not stop the Grovenser Hotel fire, in Glasgow, when Stakis owned it. Being listed did not stop the same Stakis from attempting to bulldoze the house of William Wallace in Elderslie, to build a hotel on it. Being listed did not save the Bird in the Hand Hotel, in Johnstone, about three miles away from the Wallace house, going on fire and being demolished as unsafe.  Being listed means very lttle. So I'm sure that an abandoned Ibrox could be damaged, by vandals, in a few years time. If the facade is said to be unsafe then weather listed or not, down it comes leaving a green field site.
How is any businessman going to make money other than sitting on a cheaply bought asset to sell on later at a huge profit. Rangers cannot get new players. Current ones will be out the door this Summer. Rangers look like playing in the Scottish Third Division. Believe me, some of their clubs don't appear on Sat Nav. Sky is tearing up their football contract because Rangers are not going to be in the Premier league.
It would not surprise me one bit if Green and Whyte are best pals and Whyte was the Trojan Horse in the deal.
