Morrisons' losses soar to £800m |

Morrisons' losses soar to £800m | Business | The Guardian

Morrisons are stuck in the middle as far as supermarkets go.  They do not have enough outlets to compete with Tesco and ASDA and Aldi are taking away market share by undercutting them.

The beauty of both ALDI and LIDL is that they are German companies and do very well all over Europe. They can loss lead in the Uk and place any losses against European profits. ASDA,as part of Wallmart, can do the same against American profits and Tesco is in a tax haven, with their own bank, in conjunction with the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Sainsburys plods long because it has a strong customer base, who are daft enough to pay over the odds, to shop there.
