Interesting one this.   What age must a person be to enter into a contract?   Parents booked and paid for a day out at an attraction on the strength of numbers confirm as going.  So the parents have a contract with the event.

Did the parents and the kids who said that they would go have a contract? In which case a kid,not turning up,would be in breech and liable.  But the kid was 5 years old. !!  Had he read up on Civil contract law??

At what age can a person enter into a contract?

The age or reason is said to be 7. The age of criminality is said to be 10 So I reckon that a  5 year old cannot be held liable.  However if the kid's parents said that he would attend then they would be liable.
