You can bet there will be a no further Court action clause put in by the insurance companies,who are the real payers here, if the people accept the 100K   Tell them to stuff it and raise a class action law suit.

If the plane was a fault, they can sue the builders in America Court.  Or they can sue the servicing company and the airline jointly and severally.  Either way they will get much more than 100K which is only 1.62 million.  They could get that each or more !!
