A million flock to A&E because they can't see their GP: Figures prove lack of appointments driving crisis  | Daily Mail Online

The average GP gets  £100,000 a year  with six weeks holiday  They work, roughly, from 8.30am until 6.00pm for five days a week. Their appointments run from about 8.45 until 11.30 and from 4.00pm until 6.00pm Patients can wait 3 to 5 days to see a doctor.

They should be stopped using call out services during the day at weekends and run a rota surgery, thus giving people a better chance to see their own doctor, who actually knows them and has their file to hand. Call out services just bottle it and send people to hospital, rather than be sued. They do not know the patient nor can they have access to the files. These services should only be used at night.
