Senate report rubbishes CIA claims torture was necessary to thwart terror plots
Tortured people will say anything to stop the torture. The bigger the 'unknown' plot, the more rewards and so it makes sense to give data on 'the big one.' all the time. Actually, many of these tales, were probably brought about by injecting the captives with drugs which caused hallucinations and flash backs.
The captive would just follow the lines fed to him/her and exaggerate them.
