I have never understood why Americans feel the need to own Uzi Ingram and Mac type guns which have no other use than to kill people. Why have a Barrett 50 cal long range sniper rifle or an M20 over and under grenade launcher in the home?

People claim their right to have such weapons by an archaic Law which was written into their Constitution in the 18th century when America was a collective of States which were completely lawless and had militias to defend the borders and town sheriffs to attempt to keep some semblance of order.

Times have changed since then and the Constitution should have been changed but has nor been.

Sure I can understand people wanting Glock,Smith and Westen,Beretta and the like hand guns, in their homes for protection. I can understand carrying them outside the home for personal protection.

Farmers need rifles and especially shotguns to kill vermin. Rifles have no place in the home. If a person feels the need to have one, then they should be locked away in secure premises, where they can be used to shoot targets.I do not understand the attraction in a bunch of rifle totting good ol' boys going down to the woods to shoot and kill animals. There are no food shortages these days as there certainly were 300 years ago.
