Chewing gum companies must help pay £60million bill for cleaning mess off the streets, say councils
I cannot see how the companies,that make the gum, can possibly be blamed for what idiots do with their product. Some clowns stick gum in door locks to harden. Is the gum going to be analysed and the maker forced to buy a new lock? Some clowns put gum in car door locks. Same thing. Gum makers to pay for repairs??
Councils get money from Central Government to provide services Gum makers don't ! They pay Corporation and other taxes to the Government, who provide the money to give to the Councils to clean up the gum.
