Ban on smoking in cars will be passed into law within weeks and come into force in October 2015  



Many taxi drivers,both public and private hire, have fallen foul of the smoking laws. Even when they are not working,say going for the weekly shopping, the car is still considered to be a working vehicle and many drivers have been arrested for sitting smoking in them.

I have often wondered if sales reps or other company car users can be arrested as well. Is a hire car a working vehicle?   I suppose that the answers must be yes.
