Americans cling to this entry in their Constitution which states that every man is allowed to bear arms. Now that was written, hundreds of years ago, when each State stood alone and had a militia to defend it from Indians,who wanted their land back,from other nations, who wanted aggrandisment  and revenge for happenings in Europe, from people just staking areas as their own and general lawlessness.

I would consider it fair, if it was restricted to pistols, for householders and shotguns for farmers. Rifles should have a special license and be kept at shooting ranges. Automatic machine gun weapons, like Uzis, Ingrams and Macs,should not be in the hands of the public.

Do you really need a Barrett .50 cal to plug roaches?  Do you need an Uzi to kill the odd fly?  A decent pistol,like a Glock 9, is enough to kill any home invader !!  Even a pair of them! I agree that the police always arrive late and rarely find a perp. I would have no problem shooting a home invader,but I don't need a general purpose machine gun to do it !!!
