Go-it-alone Scotland 'defenceless': Nation will be left without any weapons if it votes for independence and refuses to take its share of UK debt, MP warns | Oh the desperation of the London based folks. First,we had all out threats,then we had sugar coated stuff like setting our on Tax levels and now it is back to threats.
Well Switzerland has not had a War since the 13th century and has no nukes. Luxembourg,Andorra, Liechtenstein, and many,many, others have no nukes and are rarely at War either. They all do pretty well.
Scotland has Edinburgh, which is said to be the second city of finance in the Uk. Dundee has hi tech computing, Glasgow bustles along doing everything,Aberdeen is a major European oil base as is Sullom Voe on Shetland. There are massive,as yet,untapped oil and gas fields stretching out into the Atlantic as far as Rockall.
Scotland can make it by going into Finance in an even bigger way. Become a tax haven, bring in the money,send it out and keep a bit for doing it !!! This industry, backed up by a 50/50 deal on future oil and gas drilling,as Norway did,will allow Scotland independence which works.
