Fraudsters are selling fake paper work including pay slips and bank statements to help desperate homebuyers secure mortgages | 



This is not new!!  When I was working as a self employed Accountant, I was asked to provide statements of Income with grossly inflated figures, in order to provide support for a mortgage. I refused as it was not worth being put out of business.

Nowadays, it is more widely known that any person may act as agent for any other person in financial matters. So accounts are made up,letterheads made up ad all ar submitted in support of mortgages. If the lender phones the number, the faker agrees that the figures are correct. This provides the third party proof for the loan provider.
