Google Earth

I have always been interested in transport ,of all types and the infrastructure surrounding it all.  So I like these sites  www.planefinder.net  and www.shipfinder.co  They both show in real time, exactly where planes and boats are are any given time.
The shipping one shows type of ship, cargo type, ownership, heading and speed and blah blah. This is one of the sites, which the folks who dive for treasure always complain about. They don't have to be followed anymore. A compediter can follow from their living room.!
It is the plane one that I want to bang on about. I publish, from time to time, the plane one, showing air traffic and have done so over the past few days.  They are frightening!!    Good job they are all at different heights and have 1,000 foot clear box all round !!!!
Anyway, I found a new gimmick this afternoon. This is what you do..............
Download Google Earth then goto www.planefinder.net
Click on any plane in the sky.     A box opens showing heading, airline, type of plane,  from/to,  speed
Click  plane  and another box opens up
Now the fun starts....................click the google earth globe and after a bit the plane's position is shown on Google Earth and moves  IN REAL TIME.     You will get the hang of it.
So it should be possible for any baddies to know exactly where a plane is heading and it's position in the sky. They can watch the airport from which it takes off.  The data shows where it is going and the route is updated with speed and direction.  So it is simple to work out, where it will be and when, with a simple calculation.
Piston planes fly about 10 to 12,000.  So a guy with a surface to air missile on top of a 5,000 mountain/hill has an easy shot and an easy getaway!!!  I am gonna look into this a bit more, but any plane fitted with a transponder will show up.  Military does not show up on either the planes or ships charts, but many small planes do.
I followed Airbuses and Boeings as well as a Cessna Citation, which is the fastest wee jet.  I also followed a Platius turbo Porter,a single engine job, and a twin piston engine Cessna.  I saw every alteration of course. Towns were shown on the route, as well as hills, lakes and all the usual Google stuff.
I think that this could be dangerous.
