New law bans 'Christmas' for Asturias kids - The Local

Great idea!! Christmas was originally a Pagan festival, held prior to the turn of the year. It was a celebration of the Winter Solstice,after which the days got lighter for longer. The Roman Catholic church hijacked it when they came out with the joke that Christ was born on that date. In fact, most scholars believe that he was born in March, if he ever existed at all!! No contemporary diarist,such as Pliny the Elder or Junior, ever mentioned him, although they were living in the same area, at the same time, which seems rather strange. The new testament of Bible,said to be a record of Christ's life, was cobbled together at the council of Nicaea, some 300 years after he was said to have been crucified. Emperor Constantine, a convert from Paganism, called all theologians of the time, to a huge meeting, which lasted for three years. They then voted on the stories that they liked and discarded the ones that they did not like. Political correctness played a part,even back then. Any Gospel by a woman was automatically banned!! The Romans, who kept good records, never mentioned Christ,either! If he was ever alive, he would have been born a Jew. At that time, the Jews had very strict rules regarding when sex was allowed and not allowed. If he was born in March, he was conceived the previous Summer, when it was taboo to have sex!! So to gloss over this problem, the date in December was invented, which would have meant conception in the previous March during an allowed shagging period!! For all I know, orthodox Jews still practice this three months on the job and six months off rule!
Of course, you could believe that it was all a Holy Trick!!  Alternatively, it could have been an Alien, who did it!!
