I agree that some round a bouts are very confusing,especially if there is no other traffic to follow and it can happen that people go down the wrong slip road. I have thought that a round a bout slip road was mine at times. but have never actually gone down the wrong way.
There is a simple rule with slip roads. An on ramp, normally, has the main motorway on the right hand side of the car. Of course to every rule there is an exception. There is one entry to the M8 motorway, in Glasgow, which puts the motorway on the left side of the car. I believe that it is the only one in Europe, which is wrong way round, as it were.
