The water cannon has never been used on the mainland f the Uk. It was used in Northern Ireland. However, in Europe, the cannon is used in most countries and sometimes a dye is put in the water to allow identification later.
The simple way t stay dry and also avoid the dye is t carry plastic bin bags with you.
Cut arm and head holes and pop one over your head. Take another one and cut the closed end off. Pull this on over jeans and tie at the waist. Slit the sides to allow walking or running. You are now enclosed in plastic and the water will run off!!! There are also army ponchos and one man tents available at Army and Navy stores for the stylish look!!!
