It cannot come soon enough for me !!  I honestly thought that it would not happen, in my life time and indeed, objectively, it could still not come about or the details could be watered down in some way. We shall see.
I have always taken the view that we, in Scotland, should be like Switzerland. Heavy industry and manufacturing are finished as we can neither compete,technically, nor on wages paid. We should, therefore, become a financial hub. We must have our own money. I would call the main unit, the Alba. We cannot have notes with the Monarchy on it in an independent country!!!.
It is my fervent wish that Scotland becomes nuclear weapons free. We should send troops to a British standing Army,Air Force and Navy, for defence purposes and associated missions, only. There should be no oil stealing excursions at the behest of America.
Any agreements, currently, in place with Britain,concerning Scotland, should be looked at and cancelled or replaced, as required. Scotland should enter NATO and certainly not enter the European Union. This would allow virtual borders to be set up and immigrants kept out, unless we need their skills. Similar to Australia and Canada,today.
Every Student, who gets their tuition paid, should sign a contract to work for five years in Scotland. There are too many going abroad, immediately, upon qualification.If they wish to move away sooner then they or their employer must pay a proportion of the fees paid out to teach them! I would also cancel the tax deal which allows Irish people to come over to Scotland, to work,paying neither tax nor national insurance. They come over,work for six months, go home and return,
to start another six month spell. They are then classed as 'working abroad' in Ireland and as 'living abroad' in Scotland. They pay no tax in either country. This archaic tax law comes about because all of Ireland was British prior to the Easter Rising and Eire gaining independence leaving six counties, in the North, to remain British.
It must be full independence and not some wishy washy deal sorted out using smoke and mirrors.
