I posted about this a long time ago. I wondered then, as I do now, would Charles do the job, or pass the poison chalice on to William? Well my view is still the same.
I think that Chuck would take the job, for a short time, to reward Cammy for her time as Mistress of the Bedchamber before passing the plate. The fact that all of this would cost the British people a fortune would not bother him a bit as he has no concept of cash.
Numerous times, during Chuck's walkabouts, he has been shown,supposedly, on the spur of the moment, wandering into shops or pubs. These events are all staged to make him seem 'normal.'. Do you think that security has not checked and set it all up?? As he also knows that it has all been set up, he plays his part like a good stooge.However he never has any money, as they always forget to give him some before hand. Then if the shop keeper don't play the game, some flunky has to pay up. Perhaps Chuck is taking the piss, who knows. I doubt it very much.
