Once again we have the use of the word British, when it should read England. Oliver Cromwell and is New Model army were responsible, in part, for the English Revolution. King Charles was the last monarch to rule the country and was thrown out of Parliament, by Cromwell's men, after which Parliament ruled the country of England. It was not until the Union of the Crowns, in 1705, when James VI of England who was also James I of Scotland united the two countries into the United Kingdom of Great Britain.
