I posted, prior to the Iraq war kicking off. that America was moving in there,not for the oil and gas, but for a jumping off point, for a future war with China. Logistically the Middle East is an ideal area to provide forward supply bases which can be constantly re equiped from America via Europe.
So was Japan asked to annoy China and refused? Was Fukishima their punishment for not carrying out American wishes to provoke China? America could then test the water, to see if China was prepared to go ahead over some uninhabited islands.
International politics has come down to push and shove, just like every school playground.
