I like red wine. White wine is just too sharp for me. The only white which I ever liked, with fish, was Sauternes, not the French one, the Spanish. On the red front  well............I like
All of the Chianti 's from Italy. From France...Nuit St George  Chateau Neuf de Pape   From Oz  Jacob's Creek is nice. Really most of the Burgundy's are good. Bulgarian Bull's Blood is nice, but check out the looks on folk's faces, when you ask for it!!!! California can't make wine nor can England!!  Any fool can cut a grape plant and take it somewhere else. Don't make it good!!
A tip......try those small mini bottles to get an idea before spending money.  Putting me in the notion to open a bottle n this dismal Sunday afternoon!! Might wait a bit and have pizza with a cheeky wee Chianti at meal time.
