BBC News - Bailiffs' behaviour to be controlled by new laws
It should be remembered that bailiffs cannot operate in Scotland as we have our own legal system which is separate from the rest of he UK. However, we do have Sheriff's Officers, who act at the behest of the Court ,to recover money or goods which can be converted to money via public auction. This money is used to pay the creditors, who initially brought the case for reparation before the Court and have gained a judgement.
