NigerianEye: Nigeria’s problem didn’t start from my regime – Jonathan

NigerianEye: Nigeria’s problem didn’t start from my regime – Jonathan

I don't normally agree with Governments, but I do happen to agree with Goodluck Johnathan. Prior to him winning the Election for his first term, Nigeria always elected either the Northern tribe or the Southern tribe. Each slagged off the other and just swapped round the deck chairs!  The main power hub and big oil and gas area is in the Southern half and each, in turn, robbed it while in power.
When Johnathan was elected, he immediately picked his vice president from the opposite tribe. He also gave key positions in the Government to them, too, in an attempt at national unity. His first term worked very well. However when he won again the rumblings began. Bits of the cake were not enough and the other tribe wanted it all. So we have the back to normal warring factions of the past beginning to fight among themselves. Some groups want the status quo but others want their full tribe to rule without the sensible half and half regime that they have at present. So another civil war becomes inevitable.
