Don't let them kid you on. Plastic covers are only suitable for light foot traffic. There is a British Standard in three parts, light foot, cars and light vans and heavy duty manhole covers and frames for all road traffic. Only the light foot is allowed to be plastic.
So keep your eyes open when driving, because everything that should be in the road can be sold and leaves a hole. Gully gratings and frames, to allow rain water to run away, can be lifted, from the edge of roads. So watch out when parking. Even the 4 inch water key cover, in some roads, if missing, can ruin a wheel or cause you to lose control. Especially bikers.
The covers are stolen from pavements, as well, so look out when walking. Be extremely careful in snow, which you may roll into, crashing down a hole!!!! Always move into a parking space that someone is just leaving!!!
