The Ford Focus comes out tops, here. I had a 1.8 model for three years and loved it! It sat well on the road, looked the part and was great to drive. It was quick, had good MPH, if I kept my foot off!! On various nights or should I say in the early hours of the morning I would take it out and give it wellie. I bottled it at 135 and am sure that the 150 on the clock was attainable. From a so called family hatchback, quite amazing.
Unfortunately it was a target for everybody to hit. A speeding, lane changing Rover did the drivers wing. A Tesco van, delivering to me, ripped up one side while turning about. The windscreen was hit by a fast moving projectile. I think it was an air gun pellet, fired from tree cover, at the side of a motorway. Finally, a truck, had a belt at it, about three weeks, before I returned it!
Thank goodness for motability cars which have fully comprehensive insurance.
