Nobody would give up the information about themselves that they willing put on Facebook. There would be riots in the streets if people were told to record where they were going, when and for how long? But on FB they do it all the time.
This is a perfect, almost pure, example of the Hegelian Dialectic. The problem is to trace everybody. Give them a novel way to tell all. problem solved. It is not quite pure because you get folk like me who are members of FB under assumed names. That completely screws it up. Hence they are trying to have it stopped.
They have just lost a fight, in the Courts, with Satanic Verses author Salman Rushtie, over his first name, which is Achmed. He wanted Salman, they wanted Achmed.
They would lose the same fight with me to. In Scotland, any person may call themselves, as they wish, with no legalities to go through, as long as it is not for criminal or civil law breaking purposes. I call myself Paddy Fields, as in this blog, so sod them.
