I can't wait to see who set up this maid as a patsy. The why is easy. To get him out of the running for the French Presidency and blacken his character so badly, that he would never hold a significant post again.
He really opened the door to this honey pot by himself due to his past behaviour but that does not condone, in any way, what has just been done to him.
