In a higher competitive, dog eat dog world, an awful lot of people are just looking for an 'edge.' By paying out commissions, as they are euphemistically called, these days, a person can have an advantage over others in the same field. It is definitely not a new thing !!!
Many are prepared to pay these bribes to get profitable business into their firm. They just add it onto the Invoice which the costs others even more to pay for it all. The arms trade and aircraft selling game cannot put a deal together, without a back hander going to somebody's numbered bank account. Remember the Saudi deal with Mark thatched Roof???
It is happening all over the World. There is a simple solution. Abolish commissions altogether and jail people who get caught taking them! Anybody doing some support work, must invoice for their services and pay whatever tax is due on that income or benefit in kind.
