Casey Anthony trial verdict: Jurors felt 'sick to their stomachs' as accused was cleared

If a case is not proved to satisfaction of a jury then they must acquit. We, in Scotland, have a verdict of Not Proven for just such events. It means that the prosecution has not made their case and the jury is saying 'maybe' they did it 'maybe' they didn't. It is not the same as not guilty verdict but the person is freed with no penalties. I think that I am right in saying that no other legal system has this grey area verdict.
