Easter ceremonies have taken place throughout civilisation to celebrate the end of Winter darkness and the coming of Spring and Summer. Like many Pagan festivals it was hi jacked by Christians. There is no confirmed date for the Crucifixion of Christ as calandars were completely different in those days.
