Tunisia riots: 3,300 British tourists to be evacuated 23 dead

Tunisia riots: 3,300 British tourists to be evacuated by travel companies after 23 die | Mail Online

It will be interesting to sea how the travel companies get their clients out of Tunisia as the airport is closed and the Army are now guarding it. Hopefully arrangements can be made to allow flights to restart. Otherwise it will be a long bus drive to Algeria which is having its troubles too or a ferry trip. Either one would not be to my liking at all !!
Currently, the Prime Minister is the Civil Authority but he is a 'placeman' of the President, who has bolted the course after 23 years in power which he gained due to a coup d'etat. He didn't stop long enough to take the wife and family, who were stopped at the airport by troops resulting in an altercation taking place between the police guards and the army. The police are hated in Tunisia as they acted as the President's private army.
All flights are cancelled both into and out of Tunisia and there is a curfew just now. Perhaps when the people realise, fully, that their greatly unloved President has bolted, things may calm down a bit, while they take stock of how much he has got away with over the years and hidden in Swiss Banks !!
