If 4,900 people are prepared to stand around doing nothing all day they hardly deserve a job ! Why not start their own business? Taxi driving, going to college to learn new skills or gain better qualifications, go to University as a mature student, start up as a plumber, joiner,computer worker from home. Try anything rather than just stand in a queue for a 100 jobs with thousands in front of them. The managing director's family will probably get the jobs along with existing worker's friends, anyway!
