Don't panic Dakar has not moved the South America but the Rally has done. It took place for many years between Paris,France and Dakar, Senegal.
More and more car mechanics and their teams were being kidnapped for ransom. Tribesmen were demanding safe passage money for the various forms of transport to pass through their areas. Even if they were paid off they would not know who paid anyway as most cannot read. Eventually they were treating it as shooting practice with prizes for the number of hits !! It seemed better to go elsewhere in order to keep this money spinner going. !!!!
