France24 - Airbus lands largest contract in 'commercial aviation history'

France24 - Airbus lands largest contract in 'commercial aviation history'

It would appear that Boeing have backed the wrong horse as far as the size of plane required is concerned. The big debate was whether to go for more passengers on long hauls with feeders bringing folk to a central hub. Or the 'bus' approach with a smaller plane going from airport to airport.
By the looks of things the Airbus flying hotel wins it hands down. At least Boeing can get by building more feeder type Boeing 737's to service the Airbus customers. How embarrassing is that ?
